Bennett & Smilas Associates, Inc. has been in business for 27 years and has a long history of providing land surveying, mapping and engineering services throughout Connecticut and the Northeast. After partnering in 1989, Michael Bennett, L.S. and George Smilas, P.E., L.S. grew the company by teaming their efforts to develop a unique business that combined the best civil engineering and land surveying services available, a tradition that continues today.

George Smilas, P.E., L.S (1946-2014) was in private practice prior founding the company with Michael Bennett.
Since the inception of Bennett and Smilas, the company has stayed on the cutting-edge of technology. We maintain the latest in computer hardware and software, which allows us to meet our client’s needs with very little overhead and personnel – a savings that is passed on to you. The technology also serves to minimize the transition from fieldwork to finished design, while allowing us to plan and coordinate with other design professionals in a timely and efficient manner.
